I'm rereading the autobiographical novel Un sac de billes (A bag of marbles in English) which I've always enjoyed, and for the first time in at least three rereads I realized that the author had sisters on top of his three brothers
And the reason why I didn't know is that as far as I remember none of them is mentioned at all beyond "[...] we would have to go to the Massif Central, where one of our older sisters was hiding"
There is no mention of them on the author's Wikipedia page either, nothing about their fate during WW2, nothing at all, just a throwaway line
Which like. The book is still good, and the story still worth telling! It's also an extremely sexist imbalance of attention ig
