The Jedai forbid attachment and work to educate their members on how to avoid it.
The Jedai encourage love and valuing what you have, but teach awareness of how it can turn into attachment.
Material objects are fine to have! Attachment to them is not. Jedai attachment is similar to Buddhist attachment in that it is not a problem to love something, have it, or enjoy it, but that the problem arises when one cannot let go of something.
Attachment to people is clinging to them, it is not love. This must be understood.
Attachment to objects is fear of loss, it is not taking care of what you have. This must be understood.
Jedai love, we care, and we do value materials! It is important to see the difference between valuing your belongings and being attached to them.
Attachment means being unable to let go, even when it harms others or yourself. Not wanting to lose something is not attachment.
Attachment is not love.
Love is sustainable, good, and healthy.
Attachment is none of those.
