They’d managed to find a spot away from the hoard of people, and only a few here and there came to splash in the waves or lay in the sand. Alecto was reading a book he didn’t catch the title of, and Stefan was out of blood.

“Nobody would miss one tourist,” he said, smirking at her. She didn’t look up.

“Careful, Love, before I take your daylight ring.”

“You wouldn’t.”

That made her sigh and put the book down, and before he knew it she had him pinned to the towel. “Oh, but wouldn’t I?” She had that sharp look in her eye, a hint of a smirk on her face. It was intoxicating.

He got one hand free and showed the ring to her. She began to slide it off, and just before it left his fingertip he closed his hand in a fist and dragged her forward, pressing a kiss to her lips. She pushed him back down to the sand after a moment.

Alecto’s the scariest thing in her home. They wouldn’t be afraid of Amber.
