I will start this off by saying that I do talk about body image, but defs not in a negative way! So if you're not comfortable with body talk, then TW: body issues, body insecurity, body image!
I've never imagined that Spencer is totally a twig, I think he's lean but still muscular, just not to the same extent of Derek or Hotch! He never actively tries to exercise (and we all know he probably doesn't eat the best cause he doesn't have much time to cook) but he's still in really good shape without even trying.
Also, I think he gets to a point in his life where he doesn't really care about how his body looks. He lets his weight fluxuaite because he knows that's what his body is supposed to do, he lets the muscles grow and get smaller. He's pretty content with letting it do what it wants. So hey, if he's got some muscles underneith his sweaters and dress shirts that no one expects to be there, then that's pretty cool. Or if he's got a stomach that posts out a bit against his waistline, then that's pretty cool too, because he's still alive and his body is still working for him.
Although, he still struggles to run that mile and to lift heavy things, to the point where sometimes when he's bone dead tired from a case and his go bag is filled with academic books for the case, he struggles to carry to the point that Morgan is just like "give it here pretty boy" and hauls his go bag over his shoulder.
