it would be totally understandable if there was some actual progress toward a romantic relationship.. but this show is shit at *showing* us anything. they just jump right into storylines without any development.

Right! I mean, I'm a bit torn to be honest. I was obviously exaggerating with that post because I think you could potentially stretch it and say that they've very very subtling been planting the seeds but there was absolutely nothing subtle about her behaviour last night. It's the switch of her opinion of them together in general that is the problem, not neccessarily that she has growing feelings for Stefan. I mean, do it a little softly for pete's sake. The words, "STEFAN IS YOUR SOUL MATE" have literally come straight out of Caroline's mouth and now I'm supposed to believe because she has a growing crush on Stefan, she has a problem with the two of them? The crush part I get and that I can relate to, but not that she's seemingly handed in her Stefan and Elena fan club presidents t-shirt and proceeded to stomp all over it.
