Izumi cursed loudly as he was pinned beneath his classmate. It was a mixed class of hand-to-hand, the younger class facing their own classmates just as his. Shoto could see him and it pissed him off to no end that he had gotten himself pinned. To be fair the girl had a strength quirk, but it still pissed him off. He grunted as she pressed harder before he activated his own quirk. If he couldn't win with strength, he'd win with ability. The teachers didn't care so long as no one got hurt.
part of him worried, but shoto was even more so with the fact that izumi seemed pissed at himself. there was no need for that. they all were eventually bested by others. watching the match, it was obvious that the match-ups were random and that was a good thing. unpredictable circumstances happened, even on the battlefield.
waiting until it was finished and izumi began to sulk, shoto silently extracted himself from his classmates and went up to him. gently does he help him up, he placed a hand on his side, squeezing gently. ❝ the point of this is to hone our quirks and also to adapt without them. mine exhaust me if i use them too much, so i have to learn how to fight in close range. it’s hard and it’ll take some work, but don’t give up. ❞ it was a shitty pep talk but one that he often had to tell himself.
leaning in, his mouth presses a quick kiss to izumi’s cheek. ❝ let’s get to a chair, hm? ❞ / @immcniis
