The last time I set foot on this campsite was over two decades ago. I don’t remember much about that camping trip. But I will never forget how it rained mercilessly in the evenings. The sun was not to be outdone. In the morning, we were treated to a beautiful spectacle of raindrops sparkling under the gaze of the sun. It didn’t shy away from us during most of the day but the intermittent presence of the rain transformed the ground into muddy and slippery trails which made us dread the hike. But the real winners were #drumrollplease. . . . us - the Girl Scouts. Because rain or shine, we were not deterred. Not by the glob of mud that clung to our shoes, like weights keen on slowing us down. Not by the slippery rocks which made walking a strenuous cardio workout; each of us our own mantra trainer #dontloseyourbalance #youredoinggreat #onefootinfrontoftheother.
