This was getting ridiculous. Rowan had saved his rainbow duct tape for just such an occasion. He laid it down carefully along the floor in the middle of the room. When he heard the door open, the lost boy didn’t even look up from his task as he made sure there were no creases in the tape, “Your mess stays on your side of the tape, while my pristine side will remain that way on the other side.” The rainbow was only on the floor, not reaching over the furniture--yet. If things ever got that far, the younger might have to put his foot down.

Danae would not be doing this if she didn’t have to. But she was morbidly curious about the Porter children. For the life of her, she couldn’t place where her curiosity came from. But she found herself walking alongside the Porter boy anyways, “Hey there, you might not know me, but I’m Danae.”
