“And Father, this is Nurse Chapel.” Spock gestured to Christine.

“It’s nice to meet you, Mr. Sarek,” Christine said politely. Sarek simply slightly inclined his head. He watched as the nurse and his son interacted. She was saying something about a medical examination – Sarek wasn’t listening closely enough to know. He was paying more attention to the times that the two would hold each other’s gaze for just a little bit too long. Or the fact that when their hands accidentally brushed together lightly, Spock blushed bright green. He was even acutely aware of the fact that Christine’s pupils had dilated the moment she saw Spock.

Sarek used a lull in the pair’s conversation to interject, “I will be in my quarters if you need me. I believe Amanda is waiting for me.”
