Neretva, Noble Beast River-thing. The ancient rivers in Mirrari take the form of the creatures that drown in them. The ancient Mirrans (the Mirror-people) sacrificed many animals to them in an attempt to learn the rivers’ secrets. It wasn’t until the Speaker Damera slipped and fell into the River Neretva did that river reveal to him its truth. But, by then, Damera was no longer Damera and no longer a Speaker. Thus, the river’s secrets were kept. It is also said that the people who lived by the Neretva River were resourceful and quick to adapt to change.
