See, when I am reading this post, and I scroll down to this image:
I think to myself "I would like to zoom in on that image to see what the tiny caption says." When I click the image, it actually makes the image smaller to accommodate your viewer:
and if I right-click the image to open the viewer in another tab, it's smaller there, too, because then it's using the webp media viewer instead of showing me just the image:
The most annoying part of it is, even if I zoom in on the page using my browser controls, the viewer page itself enlarges, not the image.
There is no good way to zoom in on the image in a browser. Your image viewer pages are garbage, the way you forcibly convert all large images to webp format is garbage, and the way you force all webp images to open in a nonfunctional viewer instead of just the image is also garbage.
For advertising yourselves as the fandom-friendly media hub, you sure do a garbage job of displaying media. (I am not above tattling to Disney that tumblr is making it hard to view posts about Star Wars.)
