A BEERUS THEORY
Beerus is actually training in his sleep. 😴💤
This theory goes off the idea that when Beerus is sleeping, it is similar to how characters like Goku, Gohan, Krillin, & Piccolo do image training. Or like how Freeza did image training the entire time while in Hell (the second time) and his body by proxy got stronger.
But, Beerus is basically mental training the entire time he sleeps.
"Sleep training" if you will. 😅
We know this as REM sleep because the dream we may have is so vivid that you physically act out the dream. Or, for Beerus, it could be a mix of REM sleep & sleepwalking since he is in such a deep sleep. So deep into his mental training that he sometimes "sleep attacks" as a result.
It would take the scene from OG Dragon Ball of Yamcha using an idiom to express how much he was training, BUT make it actually possible that Beerus is capable of training in his sleep.
If Toei, Toriyama, or Toyotaro wanted to be "clever" then this could be a way to explain how Beerus grew stronger in power when he sleeps most of the time. This would be my excuse.
Who says its impossible to image train while sleeping?
Again, this is just a theory.

Yuzu’s day 3 image training in SCAC. Once again, sorry for the bad quality. He did stayed in an extremely dark spot at that time.
Covered most of "Love shot" on piano in an hour. 😳 Wow, image training really works (not that I ever doubted 😂😅). The song itself is not that hard, too, but playing it in my mind these years definitely helped to catch the cords and the rhythm quicker than usual 😁
