Daniel having daughters was, apart from an excellent addition to his story, the perfect way to let him connect with Louis AND for Armand to understand the horror of his actions in killing Claudia. Because Armand saw those girls grow up, he was probably lurking in the shadows as their devil nanny making sure they didnt fall down and get head injuries.. point is, through Lenora and Kate, he could've genuinely felt remorseful about what he did to Claudia. Instead the show turned him into an OOC evil clown to torture Louis. All the while not letting us see any woman in Daniel's life, women who have again and again been mentioned as being extremely important to him.
