The full background:

It's useless, of course; with his rib cage all but entirely detached, the only mechanism he has left to breathe is his diaphragm. Not enough to get a full breath, certainly not enough to speak. By all rights he should be dead—but he won't die. Not while Super Sonic still exists. They're two halves of the same coin, their lives bound together. So long as one of them lives, the other does too.

Really, Super Sonic should put an end to his original's misery and reunite with him, but...

He floats closer instead, fingering the edge of the black skirt Sonic is wearing—if it can even be called a skirt. It's little more than a lace-bordered scrap of fabric, so short it barely even reaches the top of his thighs. Closer to lingerie than anything else.

"Pretty," Super Sonic mutters. "Just a shame it got ruined." He touches the blood-stained top of the skirt, feather light, then drags his gaze up to the tattered remain of what he can only assume is the matching top.

Once again, top is hardly the right word. Even with the fabric bloodstained and torn to ribbons, there's so little of it that Super Sonic doubts it could be anything more than a bralette.

Super Sonic finally stops admiring his original to meet his eyes. For all that he's torn open from sternum to navel, Sonic is awake and alert—and staring right at his double.

"Oh?" Super Sonic raises an eyebrow, his smile widening. "Don't tell me you did this for me?"

Thinking about it now, it makes sense. It's highly unlikely Sonic went around gathering all the Chaos Emeralds while wearing this. He had to have changed into it right before they transformed.

"How sweet." Super Sonic moves higher up his body, until he can cup Sonic's cheek. He strokes his thumb across his original's skin, slightly bothered by how cold it feels—though any negative feelings vanish when he feels Sonic lean into his touch. "Sorry I didn't notice earlier. But," he flicks his eyes down to the skirt again, "I'll take my time appreciating it now. How's that?"

Sonic attempts to speak again, with no more success than before. He shifts, slowly shuffling his legs apart, thighs spreading.

Super Sonic watches this happen somewhat incredulously. He'd expected Sonic would want to reunite as soon as possible, but this—

"I get it," Super Sonic says. He takes his hand off Sonic's cheek to place both on his thighs instead, spreading his legs even wider. "You want me to do more than just look, don't you?"

He looks at Sonic's face, just to watch for any signs that he's wrong—but there are none. His original is steady and unwavering. Unafraid.

"Alright," Super Sonic says, voice colored with sweet indulgence. "If that's what you want, I'll make it happen."
