Scene 2: Father, Son, Silence

Killua finally came down, silent as always, his hoodie drawn up and eyes unreadable.

He sat, ate quietly, then glanced at Smoky—barely perceptible, but there.

“You okay?” he asked suddenly, voice low.

Smoky blinked. “Yeah. Just… breathing better today.”

Killua stared. Then pushed his soup bowl toward Smoky. “Yours now. It’s warmer.”

Iluliaq raised a brow, amused. “Giving away food? That’s new.”

“Shut up,” Killua muttered. But his ears were red.

Smoky smiled gently. “Thanks, Killu.”

Scene 3: Fragile Warmth

They spent the afternoon at a small abandoned garden near their safehouse. Smoky sat on a blanket while Iluliaq trimmed the wild herbs. Killua laid back, arms behind his head, watching the clouds with one eye open.

“Remember this place?” Smoky asked.

Killua nodded. “You brought me here when I was sick. Said the flowers were healing.”

Smoky chuckled. “They’re still trying.”

Iluliaq came back with a tiny flower crown made of weeds and put it silently on Smoky’s head. He didn’t say anything. Smoky laughed.

Killua deadpanned. “You both are embarrassing.”

But he didn’t move when Smoky reached over to gently brush his hair.

Scene 4: The Moment

That evening, the three sat together in silence, watching the sun dip behind the buildings.

Smoky leaned his head on Iluliaq’s shoulder. Killua leaned his against Smoky’s other side.

No words.

Just breath. Warmth. Family.

Killua closed his eyes. “I like it when it’s quiet like this.”

Iluliaq wrapped an arm around both of them. “Then we’ll make more days like this.”

Smoky whispered, “Promise?”

Iluliaq nodded. “Always.”
