Conscious Thought

these words leave my lips

as my pain steadily drips

down my chest past my breast

this situation is so complex.

i look around to see a world devoured in uncontrollable, shameful sex

yet the happiness is still unattainable & unachievable resulting in stress.

its like if you were reaching, you see the goal, you want it so bad but you will never get there

because what you don't realize is that at the other end of that goal

someone is there with a string to pull it back just when it feels like you've finally made it

they want to pull the ground from beneath you and shake your world up.

see i'm attempting to gain control

in this hectic whirlwind i'm finding my soul

forever learning and growing old

or as i like to say wiser with wisdom from my fathers father.

we were released from captivity

and now they "proclaim" we are free

yet they only emancipated us because it was easier to give us what we so desperately fought for

than to fight a losing battle against freedom

we thought that we would make the rules of our kingdom

live like the african kings and queens of the original regions

yet they locked us in profit driven cities engulfed in poverty for more than one season.

how is it that the ones on the bottom that built this world from the ground up,

are deprived from the best so the damn economy wont be distressed.

instead of the luxurious lifestyles we imagined

our reality gives us a lifetime of worry with bills that consume

and a marketed mind that dreams of something grander, big enough to fill a room

dreams go unfulfilled and pockets not flat with receipts where the money should be and happiness not felt

because at the end of the day, you are working for someone else.

we cultivated the land, we created the rules and made them so they'd understand

god forbid wall street was to crash, the news would have a field day slapping that ass

but yet when the little black boys are beaten by police

no one seems to care enough to make it on the 9 o'clock news.

crashing is not always between two moving objects,

when you hit the ground and theres no one around

someone is there to feel the fall

we create time to build the franchise and fuel the profits

yet we dismiss the internal and overlook the essence of our beings

replaced with insignificant propaganda

we are marketed from the day we are born

to the day we die, you are not a person but a consumer

the legacy you leave is your remembrance for generations to come

you lead by example, if you consume they consume if we consume the future consumes until we have sucked the earth dry of all her natural resources, the circle of our lives.

you either seek the salvation or add to the destruction
