mellifluousilmr:
“Someone said I should get out more, and…”
Stormy blue gray eyes turn down to her large hands wrapped around the handle of a mug of dark, foamy honey-tasting beer. Somewhere in the back of her mind she wishes for thin fingers twined around a glass of wine. Red. It felt classier. A smile twitches the corner of her lips and she sneaks a flickering glance to the stranger at her side.
She’s probably bothering them, isn’t she? But she’s starting on her third glass and Ilmr continues, “….I did, and I have had my drink and now I am sitting here wondering why I should not just go back home. This counts as getting out, right?”
“Sure,” Hades echoed in response. Though he’d seen her face around town, Hades had never spoken to the beauty. He stared down at his neat whiskey before he gave a real response. “Life’s not as interesting for the man who sits alone in his castle. It’s lonely being kept away from the world. Trust me, I know.”Â
Lifting his hand from the mahogany wood, he motioned to the bartender to grab them another round. Neither glass was quite finished yet, but they were getting close. “Next round’s on me.”
