Neo SteeZ Part 4 : E Cannibus Unum (EP)
ill Phil brings us his highly awaited 4th installment of his EP series,Neo SteeZ Part 4: E Cannabis Unum. E Cannabis Unum, a natural herb playoff of E Pluribus Unum, is the subtitle for this part of the series. ill Phil takes listeners on a journey through the streets of Brooklyn with powerful, classic hiphop, street records. With Guest Production form Krip & Sick Drumz of 4091 Future, ill Phil's project brings hard hittin classic beats and a new age contemporary New York feel. Phil's overemphasis of Brooklyn slang and references brings the entire East Coast feel to life. Each track in itself explains  stories of betrayal, partying, and moving about   through the neighborhoods of Brooklyn on a daily basis. The project only features D McDay, as ill Phil takes reign over the hooks and verses of the project. After more than a year wait from Neo SteeZ Part 3, and following up the ethi-DOPE-ia album, Neo SteeZ part 4 is definitely worth the wait and a must have among lyricist lovers ------------- OUT NOW

Interview With IllPhill
This is a interview I did b4 I left Philly…some saw this already..but the ones who didn’t…here it is In Philadelphia, It’s hard to be Liberian…let alone the son of a Liberian…but unlike other Liberian children…Phil “IllPhill” Dahn didnt run away from his heritage…He channeled his feelings about his culture, life, etc into words…those words that have turned into good music…The limit are endless on this up coming rapper… L.I.V.V.E:When did you start rapping and how long have you been? IllPhill:Well,I’ve been rapping for two years now. I started in September of 2010. I lie to you not,I had no idea what I was getting myself into. Because music was just an idea I wanted to explore for fun & I was told I was great with words…so I wanted to give music a shot and see what it would turn into. L.I.V.V.E:What’s the motivation behind your music..what keeps you rapping? IllPhill:The motivation behind my music is to tell a story to the world about how I see things from my perspective. I believe each individual in this world has a purpose. And each individual has their own take on what goes on in the world today. What keeps me going is trying to relay a positive message to all of the listeners. I truly believe a vast majority of the things we view and hear in the media are false. So that’s where I believe I come in, to help shine light on the truth. L.I.V.V.E:I hear you…that’s great…we need more positive messages in this world…But how did you come to be known as “IllPhill”? IllPhill:Thanks man, and yea, we sure do. Man, It was like pulling teeth to come up with my stage name. I wanted something that had edge but also had a part of me represented me in the name. I looked at it as Jekyll & Hyde, believe it or not. I went as far as calling my self PeaKo,which meant rising to new “peaks” “knocking out the competition”,yea I got deep with that one haha. But the name “ILLPHILL” came rather easily after some delibration. I wanted to keep my real name but add an extra “L” to it and needed something that represented my lyrical skills, “ILL” and at that moment, “ILLPHILL” was born haha. L.I.V.V.E:What do you think of the music in the city? IllPhill:I think the music in the city is great. There so many talented artists right now in Philly that I think deserve mainstream attention. The culture of music in Philly is changing everyday so its only right to shed lights that’s going on here. I lik Chiddy Bang, their one of my favorite bands and also Lee Amazin. Philly has talent man, mad talent for real. L.I.V.V.E:Yea…Philly sure enough is…that why I’m gonna help shine the light on our musically diverse city…What makes you different from the other rappers in the city? IllPhill:Yea,you most definitely got to do that. Ouite honestly,I think every artist is different in their own way. Each has their own style and tendencies that attracts an audience respectively and the same goes for me. For starters,my family is from Liberia which is on the west coast of Africa. So as fate would have it,I am Liberian and proud of it. The market for African musicians let alone rappers is rather small and I’m amongst that small majority trying to help make us known. Now my style is different. I can rap in Liberian English called “Koloquah” Liberian genre Hipco. I can also rap in American genres like HipHop and R&B. I can pretty much any style of music because I’m open minded. I much respect to my Liberian brothers out here in Philly. Artists such as Yund Ward, Bucky Raw,Rawpekin,Jay Supreme, and many others like myself helping to pave the way for future African musicians in Philly. L.I.V.V.E:I sure enough will…because Philly’s musicians are not all the same and like you said…they all tell different stories and their stories need to be heard…speaking of Rawpeakin, how did y’all get to be on the same label…Greenlight Records? IllPhill:Well Raw,as I now call him, we met during the summer of 2011 through a mutual friend, a young and upcoming director named Deman Wilmos Paul by a way of his company Dream Reacher Flix. Paul was working on one of Raw’s videos and called over to their meeting spot for a look at the video and that’s how we met. We clicked right off the bat, shared the same interest like making music and putting Liberia on the map. So he asked me to be on three of his songs and the rest is history. He liked what I displayedand proposed that I sign with his independent record label,Greenlight Records. So I signed wtith them(Greenlight) in October 2011and we’ve added two more artists to our label since then…Lady L & Weekie Jah. L.I.V.V.E:Cool..I’m loving what you all are doing…keep it up! How did you come up with the last couple of hits you put out? IllPhill:Yessir! Shout out to you too man. Keep doing your thing highlighting artists. Its well appreciated #Salute… NOW YOU ARE AWARE…FEEL WITH THE VIBE…GET L.I.V.V.E!!!!
