Lavender and Rose infused lotion
As mother’s day passes, I couldn’t resist the urge to infuse my bouquets of roses . Lavender is such a relaxing complementary scent so, I grabbed up some lavender buds and infused them both with 100% olive oil (pomace).
Roses are known in herbal folklore for skin rejuvenation and are present in aroma therapy blends to uplift the spirit. Also roses are known to attract love. …… hence the reason for giving roses as a sign of love and or affection.
The lavender was added to apply these benefits:
RELIEVES PAIN: Which means it will be awesome for arthritis and or a full body massage.
HELPS WITH SKIN DISORDERS : Issues such as eczema, psoriasis and wrinkles. Lavender is also very soothing to achy sunburned skin.
HEALTHY HAIR: Stimulates growth….. excellent after African braiding or any protective style that uses a great amount of tension during application. In herbal folklore it is known to treat certain types of alopecia. Slow-to-grow hair issues as well.
IMPROVED CIRCULATION: Full body massage combined with aroma therapy can improve circulation in body, it’s appendages and scalp.

If not familiar with lotion making. ……Please research the phases and the process beforehand.
•Sterilize all tools that you will be using and your workspace.
•Add wax, coconut and lastly the infused oils and heat on MEDIUM till melted and combined.
•Heat water and Aloe Vera gel in a thick bottomed saucepan over LOW heat. DO NOT OVER HEAT/COOK. You want each phase to be warm to touch to assist in blending. This is the only reason to raise temperature.
•While keeping an eye on both allow oil phase to cool a little (8-12 minutes). Do not let the wax form a film on the top.
•Start by blending warm water and Aloe Vera, then add to oil’s and blend on LOW for a few seconds or so.
You will begin to see the mixture take form, blend till it’s almost your desired texture.
•Add Glycerin/ Sodium Lactate. ………..blend
•Add essential oil’s. ……a few drops at a time. Keep in mind less is more.
•If haven’t. ……totally allow your mixture to cool then transfer ,for open jar types …… or transfer to lotion bottles and cool with top’s off.
If it does separate or doesn’t come together. …..review steps and or blend and blend some more.
As a bonus ingredient and for extra benefits, I personally added 1 tbsp of Shea butter.
