Doug Strahan "I'll Make It Rain"
Doug Strahan wasn't always a Texas boy, but he now calls Austin home. And boy, am I glad he does. You may recognize him from other musical outfits, such as Chili Cold Blood, The Moonhangers and The Memphis Strange, but his latest solo record holds a sound all his own.
Featured above is I'll Make It Rain, my favorite track from his album, Coal Black Dreams, Late Night Schemes. His Gary Stewart vibrato is on point, and so is his brand of country, appropriately dubbed "funky tonk." Also a badass guitar player, Doug's live show is not one to be missed, so you should catch him whenever he's in your area.
I included a video of another great song, below, called Sunny Day. I especially love this one because of it's raw honesty about things and places that are very familiar to me.
