@ilingeron liked for a prewar starter
Robert House watched the performance as he usually did from his Penthouse floor at the Top of the Lucky 38. The monitors of green reflect multiple camera images to him. But for now he was focused on her performance.
His head bends down when he goes to light his cigarette, but then once it's lit he sits back in his chair like it was his throne. Exhaling the smoke from his lungs as he listened to her preformance. Reaching over to turn up the audio for himself.
Her voice was lovely, as it always was. He listens intently. There were greater things of importance but he liked to make sure everything in his Casino ran perfectly. From the securatrons to the ever flowing alcohol, to the oxygen in the casino pumping the people with energy to continue to gamble. It all had to go perfectly.
He hears a wrong note played, and its not her fault. But he is instantly displeased. He turns off the audio instantly and stands from his chair. Soon he's down below, in the theater wings watching from backstage the final number of the preformance.
House was not thrilled, but he waits for the curtains to close before he goes up to Ms. Winden.
"I know you said you like this new painist...But I do not.." he tells her low. "Are you certain...You want him in this band...I can find..Better.."
Easily. Anyone would kill to work for him, so it would not be hard..But this was her band. Her stage, and though he may own this Casino, he wasn't the one singing and preforming. So though he may not like it, he was still differing to her in this moment. Shes the one with a heart, not him. Money can pay for most anything. But not raw talent. And at the moment, House wasn't pleased with the pianist ruining his main act. The patrons may not of noticed to much, but House did.
