After hair transplant surgery, the patient has to be more careful and alert. He must avoid so many things for any possibilities of damage. The patient has so many natural needs and one important and major need is bathing. But the point is it dangerous to take a bath immediately after hair transplantation? How long the patient should wait for bathing? And what is the right procedure to wash hair after transplant surgery? These are very common, but vital questions. You should take a shower immediately after return back to the surgery, but, don’t let your hair wet. You can use the medicated shampoo after 2 days and, then, wash your hair daily for at least 1 week but with gentleness. Always use ph-balanced shampoo because it doesn’t contain harmful acid. Now come to the hair wash technique so, first you should put some water and shampoo in your palm and start to massage your hair softly around the newly grafted area and the scar with your fingers and thumb. Don’t put too much pressure. To wash your hair, during the first few days, pours some clean lukewarm water over your scalp using a receptacle. There is a chance to appear some white spots, after washing your hair, at the root of the hair grafts: this condition is due to a swelling of the hair grafts. These spots will generally vanish after 30-40 minutes. As regards the donor zone, the stitch must be regularly and actively washed because this will avoid any hard crusting on the scalp, which obstructs scarring marks.
