Ilere's gotta be one of the coolest faeries on the site. She doesn't show up that often—only playing a relatively minor role in the Tale of Woe—but that kind of works, as her whole thing is being mysterious and reclusive, and having her show up too often would ruin that. The only event she's associated with beyond that is the Faerie Festival, where she just stands around aura farming:

What I like about her, outside of her great design, is that we don't get many... I don't want to say "evil" because she's not, but I guess ominous earth faeries, who are usually just the standard "hippie earth spirit" trope. Ilere living in the Haunted Woods of all places, combined with her great gothic design, really makes her stand out.

Ilere's design has remained consistent over time, though that's probably just because she doesn't show up much. Her design features black prominently, and uses dark green accents with lime green to make her eyes stand out (which have the standard faerie colored sclera). This gives her a coherent palette, and works well with her personality without feeling overly dark or boring.

Ilere of the Woods is, to most residents of the Haunted Woods, a frightful figure--a character featuring in more than one ghost story . As these stories would have it, the reclusive earth faerie was "As deadly as she was beautiful."

Sophie the Swamp Witch is one of the few Neopet denizens of the Haunted Woods who doesn't hold Ilere in frightened awe--and she's not afraid to show it.

And for her part, Ilere seems surprisingly tolerant of the swamp witch's well-known grouchiness. From anyone else, such behavior would seem more likely to end with the offender under a truly nasty curse, if not one more ghost to haunt the woods. But when it comes from Sophie, Ilere is more likely to respond with a raised eyebrow, a calm reply, and an uneventful departure.

If Sophie holds a grudge for what she sees as Ilere's past neglect, Ilere doesn't seem to return it in kind.

A piece I made of a dream sequence my grave cleric, willow had a few months back! A miraculous nat 20 strength save and here we are.
