Name: I.K.S. Gar’tukh
Type: Vor’cha-class Attack Cruiser
Captain: Qyrll
Year: 2374
Background: Part of a Klingon fleet sent to Oroan IV to destroy a Dominion supply outpost. The outpost was heavily guarded but would be a glorious mission. Qyrll believed he received a vision that the the whole thing was a diversion and the real outpost was on Oroan VII. The Gar’tukh did not participate in the battle and found Oroan VII empty. They missed the Battle at Oroan IV and the Klingon fleet had been destroyed. With his command disgraced, his First Officer tried to kill him and failed. As punishment the Gar’tukh was dispatched to the Elkauron II Federation Outpost near the Gorn border, far from battle. They were to aid Starfleet and their Corp of Engineers to enhance the defences at the outpost. The Starfleet liaison was Commander William Riker. Their penance was cut short when part of the Gorn fleet blasted through the system and overwhelmed the planetary defences. The survivors (including Qyrll and Riker) beamed up to the Gar’tukh for a last stand against the Gorn. Boarding parties using breaching pods fought their way in, Qyrll buying some time by ejecting the warp core directly onto one of the other ships (killing himself in the process). As the crew and survivors were routed to the bridge Riker changed the environmental settings to extreme cold, that hampered the Gorn much quicker than the Klingons and humans. The Gorn withdrew into a forced state of hibernation, allowing the defenders to retake the ship. They located the Gorn leader and forced his surrender (once thawed).
