Ikara Kakusareta is an assassin and one of the main protagonists of PANDÆMONIUM.
PERSONALITY
Ikara is a strange mix of a cold brashness and a calm and calculated empathy. He is not one to beat around the bush in both hate and appreciation, and his opinions are made known without haste - if they're made known at all. As blunt as he is, he is also very good at keeping to himself. Exceptional, in fact, that it became what pays him. Only in the comfort of private moments, either by himself or with his few friends, does he show his more relaxed nature. And even then, with the looming idea that his boss, Vox, is always watching him, he rarely expresses his true thoughts outwards and maintains a neutrality he believes keeps him and his loved ones safe.
BACKSTORY
Ikara was born some time in the early 2000s to an unnamed mother and father in Yokohama, Japan as an only child. There, his life would progress as any other person's life would've progressed until a supernatural incident known as a Hellrift ripped him from Earth and eviscerated the entire neighborhood in which he had been raised. Upon being brought to Hell, Ikara was subjected to vast amounts of cybernetic implantation, physical and psychological torture as to become one of several ‘perfect assassins’ to instill fear within the populus, known as ‘Shadows’. It was soon realized that Ikara could operate with the efficiency of ten shadows solely by himself, and Ikara was made the only Shadow left.
After around 7 years of service, he met mob prince Anthony D'innocenzo during a turf war that Ikara bad been sent into as a publicity stunt to show VoxTek's ‘might’, and they soon became exceptionally good friends, often getting into trouble together around Hell. Anthony helped Ikara feel, and Ikara helped Anthony think.
Later on, immediately after a bank heist, Ikara and Anthony discover a crater on the outskirts of town. Inside of this crater lay a recently disowned Charlotte bet-Shachar, whom they quickly gave refuge at Ikara's home after a time of bickering about it. After arriving, Charlotte explained her plan of redemption for sinners to Ikara and Anthony, and Ikara, while initially skeptical, bought in.
