These are so beautiful that I was asking myself why I didn't plant many more of them.  And then I remembered, I did. I planted 200 of these last fall, and when I looked more closely I could see they in fact survived the winter and all came up some time in the last week.  But the deer had bitten off the buds of all but this cluster.  I hate deer.  The winter was not that hard.  There was hardly any snow.  Food was not scarce.  The grass is already greening.  But you just HAD to come right up to the front porch and eat 190 crocus buds in one night???  I hope the coyotes regurgitate your crocus-chomping carcass to their numerous spawn very soon.

and since he has no panic emotion, I didn't realize he meant IN THE ROAD, IN FRONT OF ME. So i was all "lala de daa" and WHAM, the deers ten feet in front me. So i slam on my breaks and its weaving back and forth and the car next to me stops and basically blocks its escape route on one side. I was almost at a stop and it almost made it when i hit its ass and it went scampering off into the forest.
