Harman, it is a premier connected technology company that works in the field of automotive, consumer and enterprise markets. They recently launched the HARMAN ignite platform, which helps its customers experience seamless management when it comes to connectivity, application, analytics and devices in one place. 

This new solution primarily caters to connected services in the automotive industry; however, it extends its arms to the realm of IoT, which includes smart cities and connected enterprises.

Anthony Landamia, who is the infotainment product manager, said “ the HARMAN Ignite platform is a perfect match for Subaru because it allows us to streamline our process for device management.” 

The HARMAN Ignite platform provides an end-to-end platform that enables connectivity, device management, application enablement, managed services capabilities and analytics. What it does is, it allows all the automakers, dealers and service providers to introduce and easily deploy all the new cloud applications and services.

Not only is it scalable but has modular enabling OEMs that helps initially purchase a base set of functionality, and with the help of HARMAN, build on the core base with added service and capacity as needed. With this new platform, it targets the future demands of scalability and security in the field of connected car and IoT services.

Roger Lanctot, who is the associate director of global automotive practice, Strategy Analytics said “Ignite is a part of the evolution of HARMAN being a service provider and application enabler in the connected car of the future,” in addition to that, he said,

“Car companies are seeking secure, flexible platforms that enable rapid prototyping and updating of new services targeting new vehicle ownership models and use cases.”

HARMAN Ignite Marketplace: with the launch of Ignite, OEMs gets to offer their customers an ecosystem that will help them download apps and cloud-enabled services. With the help of this marketplace will be able to provide support to all the third-party developers who will then allow customers to enjoy the apps. Furthermore, OEMs have the capability to showcase custom applications and create user-specific services.
