Tribunal: PDP closes case after calling 19 witnesses

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and its candidate for Ovia Federal Constituency seat, Edo state,  Barr. Omosede Igbinedion, have closed their case at the National and State Assemblies Election Petitions Tribunal after calling 19 witnesses.

A total of 71 witnesses were scheduled to be called to testify but they could only call 19 before the expiration of the time allotted by the tribunal.

Gunmen Shot University Lecturer Dead

Mr. Kelvin Izebeokhai, a lecturer with the Igbinedion University, Okada (IUO) in Edo State, has been shot dead.

Edo State Commissioner of Police, Mohammed DanMallam, who confirmed the killing on Sunday, said Izebeokhai was killed in an attempted escape bid from the kidnappers.
