Bc I'm on birth control, my hair has slowed its growth rate and I've lost most of my curls. When I let it air dry it's frizzy and slightly curly. Anyone who's known me since youth knows that i always had extremely tight curls. So, i decided to do a thing. I got a brand new straightening brush (a decent one, too, not some cheap pos from cvs) and purple hair dye. And I'm honestly very pleased with these results. I hadn’t expected the coloring to take so well as it usually doesn't with dark hair. I used Overtone's "for brown hair", which I've used in the past but only blue. It always came out fine, but usually looked best in the sunlight with maybe some hints of blue indoors. This purple is so much more vibrant and while it shows up best in sunlight, it really shows well in lamplight as well. The straightener did a great job, too. The last one I had always made my hair feel weird: greasey and oily, and never lasted more than a few hours. I love this one. Not only did it work really well, I just love the end results. Hand to God, I'd been having high school flashbacks, hearing those awful words, feeling that clenching stomach whenever anyone happened to glance at me. And now I feel so much better, and I'm actually excited to maybe experiment a bit with the colors and see what I can do.
