Alice travels to Liverpool to continue the investigation into the two Marthas, while the private detective remains in London. After disguising her way into a records office, she finds a signature of Martha Behamfil, this time in an entirely different hand.

Some of the witnesses Alice interviews confirm they had seen a woman that roughly aligns with Martha's appearance, but none are strong enough to testify. In London, though, the detective finds that Martha paid a final visit, sleepless and haggard, to a materials store and presented a glider. The owner joked she must've been moving to look so stressed.

After comparing the two sightings and confirming there were no Behamfil twins (hello twin motif), the only conclusion is that there were two unrelated Marthas that day. The detective reflects on the case of a bank owner who bought the identity of a recently deceased man.

He proposes that Martha sold her identity to be free to follow her dreams, while someone else was desperate enough to buy it.

Alice disguises herself for the grey market of names, setting up a new disguise and portraying herself as an unlucky governess in need of a new identity. The detective introduces her to a bookkeeper involved in the trade, who starts the deal through the double entendre of buying a story.

The next link of the chain is a tailor, who listens to the order with the veil of needing clothes. We are starting to see that the process of buying an identity is reflected in the traders: stories, clothing, and a person close enough to your identity. They cannot, however, truly consume one for the other. Thus, it's easier to quietly disappear with a bought identity than to live with one.

To disappear so quietly, Alice realizes, the person who bought Martha's identity's with no one to suspect, must've been incredibly skilled, with the discipline, tenacity, and adaptability of a spy.

In horror and astonishment, there is only one person who could've trained such a pupil: Evelyn Mora and the Lambs of Lord Melbourne.

While not a true recipient of the Twin Motif, it is interesting that it appears, given the Twin (and Sibling) Motif is one of the core motifs to Identity V. Game 6-2 appears to be a warped parallel to the Final Game, with similar motivations for the participants as the Da Capos: a woman seeking her Manor Staff-associated brother, a spouse [accused of being] involved in the death of their lover, a young man seeking money gifted by the supernatural, and a soft man with a skin condition with a vicious side. Martha appears to take the place of Orpheus, with Orpheus' DID and too-many-identities being replaced with Martha's lack of identity, and both having gone rogue from Vilhelm Lamb's grip. The brief mention of the Twin Motif, meant to reflect the relationship between Orpheus and Alice DeRoss reinforces it.

This letter presents the transfer of identities from Real Martha to Martha as far less violent than it was initially presumed. Real Martha had put her name up for sale and Martha took it. However, that's only part of the story, since Martha's First Letter asks Orpheus DeRoss to guarantee her a new identity before she joins the Manor Game, with Martha Behamfil's identity being set up to give Martha an identity crisis (Martha Second Letter, Martha Third Letter). Given this was the point Orpheus started going "rogue" from Vilhelm Lamb (presumably due to learning about Alice's continued survival (Alice Third Letter, Orpheus Fourth Letter), he may have been, for lack of kinder terms "playing with his food," and wouldn't want loose ends. Where Real Martha is remains uncertain, but it doesn't seem Martha harmed her.

Something interesting is that it's very ambiguous on the longstanding theory that Game Seven featured Real Martha, presenting the idea that Real Martha may just be... around. Living. On one hand, we've had some recent characters suspected of some kind of IDENTITY Swap be disproven, such Joseph and Mr. Leroux (Joseph Seventh Letter). On the other and, these were far newer connections, while Martha's has been brewing since the moment she was announced. Whether Real Martha will make an in-game appearance remains to be seen.

Alice seems to recognize Evelyn from Martha's skill, but not Martha herself, which is rather interesting, since it proposes how many of the Lambs Alice actually knew? Remember, Alice was being held hostage by Vilhelm, medicated to keep her restrained. While she was trained with the Lambs for unknown purposes, it seems her information was limited to Evelyn and the Blonde Lamb who obtains the Oletus Manor invite. Is it possible that, in spite Martha being Evelyn's star pupil, her and Alice never met? Or did Alice merely forget due to the Delphi medication? Or is Martha's skill so impressive, due to her lack of true identity, that there was no one for Alice to remember?
