Communicate!! With!! Your!! Partners!!

In reference to darker themes, do write and explore dark or controversial themes that you want to explore but please understand that your partner needs to be completely in the know, communicating their intent or interest in writing that theme, and ensuring the topic does not go into triggering territory for either writer- or if it is, that they are okay with that; and if they aren’t, immediately backing out without guilt-tripping them or making them feel bad. Give your partner the option and freedom to say “No”, and ensure you yourself feel the freedom and comfort to say “No”.

Because the issue with certain themes written on a platform like tumblr is that the content is public unless you’re a private blog.

You have to understand that controversial/dark topics are controversial/dark, yes, but that those topics aren’t written about as much because they’re full of triggering content or even content some people just don’t like to see as in squicks, etc.

No, you don’t have to meticulously tag everything, but you also have to recognize that if you don’t, if you just throw shit out there to the winds, people don’t have to follow your blog or interact with it. You have to respect how you present and frame things because every thread is an interaction between two people, and to build a healthy relationship oocly, you have to take into account the other mun’s feelings. You have to understand that if you want to write it, especially on here, tagging is a way to safely write things while- in a sense- broadcasting “Yes, this is triggering content. What’s contained here is not supposed to represent something healthy/normal/okay”. Because writing and rping does not have to reflect the real world and not every relationship, interaction, and otherwise is going to be a shining example of health.

I write dark and triggering content- I’ve written smatterings here and there on tumblr and there’s a bunch of it on my discord, in private servers. Where the content can be safely explored between two people who have communicated about the content, agreed that’s what they want to write.

She paused for a moment before nodding again and grabbing her black Gel pen “oh right! I forgot…sorry I kinda zoned out…” She snickers slightly and rubs the back of her neck.

“I’m …not sure how to like…declare my income, do I even declare the money from blackwatch?”

“Taxes have that effect on people,” it was that or an urge to run from said boring paperwork. “Although you can’t use a gel pen, they don’t leave indentation in the paper in the off chance the ink itself is rubbed away.”

But he’ll pass over one of his nicer black ink pens, customized with his name and rank, probably from some conference or official dinner.

“Blackwatch is a branch of Overwatch, so you can declare under that banner... Unless you’d like to uncover covert ops through your tax refund?”

No position for her to be asking questions, but there she is, at the wrong end of the assassin’s rifle. This tactic has never been used on her before, she suspects the aim is to distract, so she remains vigilant. 

“You want to know what we’re going to do with you? Do you like horror stories, chérie? Your life will become one as your exposed to your deepest fears again and again until you cannot feel anything anymore.” Her hand slides to the pouch strapped to her leg, and she removes a mine, throwing it in the air, and shoots it, dispersing a purple plume around them. She moves to grab the woman who should no doubt be unconscious soon, so she has no qualms saying the next part:

Yes, because Jack really shouldn’t be drinking as much as he does. Despite being a super soldier- the amount of alcohol he was drinking wasn’t healthy to what it was doing to his metabolism. Despite the genetic modification, drink enough and it WILL make you sick with none of the fun effects of being “drunk.”

Enough times in the alleyways with modified alcohol poisoning taught him that. As it is, he’s started limiting himself to a couple of bottles a day rather than the entire half-crate he could down if he was really in the throes of a bad depressive swing.
