Why is ictinike(iktomi) eagle-like in the series? He should have spider features just like anansi. Also his father should be inyan not sun god wi.
OK, I know nothing about Ictinike himself, so this is just about the Devil Summoner design. From World Guidance:
太陽神の息子。先住民である インディアンのスー族に戦い 方を教えたとされる英雄。 これは太陽神の息子なん ですけど、結構放蕩息子みた いな奴なんです。 人間から見 ると、 戦い方を教えてくれた 英雄なんだけど、 やっぱり 「トリックスター」なんです よね。そんなイメージを伝え たら、 デザイン的には 「ブレ 「イブハート」 記念のベルセル クを鳥にしたような感じにな ったみたいです。 (礒貝) The son of the sun god. A hero who is said to have taught the indigenous Sioux people how to fight. This is the son of the sun god, but he's quite a prodigal son. From a human perspective, he's a hero who taught them how to fight, but he's also a "trickster." When we conveyed that image, the design ended up looking like a combination of "Braveheart" and a bird-like version of [something from] Berserk. (Isogai)
So, absolute bupkis in the official design profile and comment about him being a spider, instead focusing on him being a hero and his (perhaps erroneous) heritage. This is probably a case ("many such cases") of the source they used for him being insufficient; imagine the Woman's Encyclopedia, but one for Native American myth or Heroes in general*. What's extra interesting to me about the design comment is that it was provided by Isogai instead of Kaneko. I can't remember any others like that.
