“you needed to see me!?” Luciellia snarled, more aggressively than she really meant too, but his words were like needle, prickling into her skin. “Why didn’t you send me a letter before you left, something, left something behind to tell me, a-anything to tell me” She sucked in breaths as she spoke, trying to stop the tears, but it was useless. All the slow burning stress and worry of the past months crashed into her at once. Warmth streaked down her face, which only frustrated and embarrassed her more. 

“You just disappeared with no lead for months, and only now you show up needing to see me!? After I had finally come to terms I would never see you again!! What about me-hic-? What if I nee-hic-needed to see you-hic-, what if I thought-” She choked on the forming hiccups and stomped her foot in frustration. She turned away, she couldn’t look at him, it felt too much like looking at a corpse. It had been so long, she had finally given in to the notion he might have died. But he stood there, perfectly alive. She felt Icnoyotl at her side, trying to whisper something, but she couldn’t hear it.  Too much noise in her head, too many emotions vying for dominance.
