Last week I attended the International Children's Film Festival India, which saw an amazing 175,000 children from across India attend over 150 screenings of shorts and feature films from across the globe. One film that really stood out not just with me but with the Children's Jury, who awarded it Best Feature, was the German film Crocodiles Strike Back. The film follows a close group of friends who call themselves the Crocodiles. When the local factory is set to be closed down, where some of the parents of the Crocodiles work, threatens to split the group. The Crocodiles discover that there is something more suspicious about the closing factory than just fault machinery and fight to discover the truth to save their friendships. During the screening of the film the children and I admit myself were cheering out loud when the Crocodiles fight the bad guys and the interaction and affect the film had on its audience was amazing. For me it took me back to the time I watched the Goonies and E.T and overall was a good feel kids adventure film. Unfortunately due to the film being in German it is unlikely to be released in the UK or US which is a direr shame. All I can say is if you ever get the chance to see the film make sure you do!
