The travel hack you AREN’T using SAVE THIS POST ➡️ While I love exploring a new location on foot, I *also* love getting a sky-high perspective so that I have a lay of the land before sightseeing. 👀 Tons of people miss this easy travel hack! The best way to get a view of Reykjavík, Iceland's picturesque capital, is to head to Hallgrímmskirkja church, pop into the foyer gift shop, spend 1400 ISK (around $10 USD) for an adult ticket to enter the the bell tower, and head up the elevator from there. ⬆️ After a ride up several floors, you’ll exit the elevator, climb some stairs, and find yourself greeted by breath-taking views of the colorful city below and the ocean beyond! ❤️💙💚 🔔 Bonus: if you time your visit right, you may just be there when the church bells toll… just be sure to plug your ears since the bells are right overhead! 🙃

⭐️ SAVE THIS LIST ⭐️ If there's one thing you should know about Iceland, it's that the nature is EPIC. 🌋 From volcanoes to glaciers, and northern lights to waterfalls, this place has natural beauty covered! 💦 Here are a handful of the most epic waterfalls you can visit along Iceland's Southern coast: 💚 Skógafoss - a real BIG BOI of a waterfall, this is one that you both can hike above *and* camp below 💙 Svartifoss - reached via a moderate hike, and noteworthy for its columnar basalt backdrop ❤️ Seljalandsfoss - whispy, sweet, and possible to hike behind, plus incredibly close to to the road-trip-worthy Ring Road 💛 Gljúfrabúi - tucked into the hillside just beyond Seljalandsfoss, which means easily visited if you're already exploring Seljalandsfoss on foot 💜 Fjaðrárgljúfur - technically a canyon, yes -- but also filled with waterfall goodness Where's the most beautiful body of water you've seen?

As poet-philosopher @andre3000 once said: "What's cooler than being cool? ICE COLD!" I have to imagine he was talking about Iceland's glacial lagoon, Jökulsárlón, and the adjacent, iceberg-covered Diamond Beach. 🤣❄️ Because there's OBVIOUSLY nothing cooler (*or* more legitimately ice cold) than meandering through massive teal blue chunks of millennia-old ice on a black sand beach, or cruising among iceburgs on a boat tour while you admire Vatnajökull Glacier from afar. 😄 🛥️ Boat tour options on Jökulsárlón lagoon include: a fast-moving tour by Zodiac (a.k.a. a rigid inflatable boat) or a slower-moving (and somewhat cheesier) amphibious boat tour that's fun if you've never ridden a boat on water AND land before. 😅 Pro tip: you'll need to do the amphibious boat tour if you've got kids under 10 who are traveling with you (which we did). Either tour is fun, and if you're lucky, you may even get to spot seals chilling (...literally) on the 'bergs. 🦭🧊 Bonus: you'll probably have a chance to taste ice that's straight from the lagoon, leaving you refreshed for the rest of your adventure! 💙 Would you try this ice?!
