“There is nothing soft about me.”

     Love. How long had it been since those words were uttered to him? Since the fall of Stormwind, from his own mother’s lips? He couldn’t remember. While Terenas had adopted Varian like a son after the passing of his family, it wasn’t the same. He was cared for and respected by the King, but it was not reminiscent of what was being said to him now. 

Anduin was just about to BEG  Arthas to let him FIGHT by his side. The battle would go ON either way, but he wasn’t going to let ARTHAS go out there with out him. He knew what would happen, but he couldn’t very well ARGUE at him either.

He may have been KING, but at the same time, Anduin didn’t want MORE lives to be put at risk. If that meant going out there himself, he would do so with out a SECOND thought, but he couldn’t FIGHT his uncle. Not when the STAKES were so high.

                     “My  Father would want me to do what’s RIGHT. No matter                        the cost.”  A bold statement, one done out of NECESSITY                        than actual thinking, but for now, it would have to do, “If you                         do this... at least stay LEVEL headed.”

He knew this was a mistake; going for Arthas for help. To fight against the Burning Legion. Yet, there was nothing else he could do. Not on his own and the Horde and Alliance wouldn’t be able to hold them off for long.

With the events of the Broken shore fresh in his mind, there was no denying that soon enough, there would be a breaking point. The Horde was always watching, always waiting, and willing to strike. They needed to be stopped, but first, there was the Legion.

Against all of his advice he had made it a point to seek him out. No one behind him, no guards, and no one knowing where he was going. This wasn’t the first time that this happened and it wouldn’t be the last either. 

Though, at the same time, this was when he was no longer just a prince. He was now the King of Stormwind, and that meant he had responsibilities. Not just to himself, but to his people, and that was why he was here. To talk to his uncle, and hope.... that there would be a chance he could get through to him.

        “I’m not here to FIGHT. Just to talk.” 

"You make it sound like paladins are supposed to clunk around in cumbersome armor and shout 'HERE I AM, I'M THE HEALER, COME AND GET ME!!'." A subtle bite followed to Varian's neck before his hands pulled away to instead embrace the raven-haired prince. "Ha... no, that's your job. Rogue's not a bad idea though... I pierce you from behind often enough."
