Four Stars
I just love these kids so much! They're so brave and honestly, I would have been head over heels for this series as a 10-year-old. I'm still loving it as a 26-year-old! I love the transformation magic, what kid didn't love dragons and wolves? Just the best creatures to pick. I'm so happy we got to see so much of the dragon's realm in the book when the first focused so heavily on the wolves. After seeing how both societies are run it's clear that both have many problems. Though I will say I vastly prefer dragon school to the wolf academy. The flight of the dragons also allowed us to see more of the world in which these books are set. There are some really magical descriptions of the landscapes and the various places they travel to. We also discover more of Anders and Rayna's past and it is juicy! The new dragon characters were a lot of fun. I love that even though these kids have grown up with so much prejudice between them they manage to see beyond what they've been told and become friends with someone they've been told to hate. I do wish it had been a little harder for them at some points in their quest but that's likely because I'm an adult reading a middle grade. Younger me probably would have felt a lot differently. I'm very excited to see how this series concluded in the final book!

Mulan is one of my favorite Disney movies that people always seemed to forget about, so this is such a fun book to read. Elizabeth Limâs Reflection follows Mulan, still disguised as Ping, as she ventures to Diyu, the Underworld, to save Captain Shang after heâs wounded in battle. A mix between Mulan and Hercules seems like such an awesome combination, so I cannot wait to read this book.

Weâre seriously being spoiled with Amie Kaufman books this month, hell these past three months. Ice Wolves is her first solo work, and Iâm so so so excited for it. The novel follows twins Anders and Rayna as theyâre pulled down two separate paths. When Rayna is taken away by scorch dragons after she takes their elemental form, Anders is prepared to do anything he can. Even enlist at Ulfar Academy, a school for children who are ice wolves elementals who value loyalty above all else â including family.

Some pen doodles. These aren't actually ballpoints just be fucking around with my super inky pilot pens. The first one are the heads of the three wolves that Avari owns. Being more delved into magic than his brother, Avari can summon any rank of familiars, but he sticks with his lowest (his three wolves) to spare both magic and time. The last two is just me doodling Poison-Arrow, a black and acidic green wyvern being introduced in the next couple chapters of Wilderness :00 Hope y'all enjoyed!
