so my employers aren’t taking my role as a new mother seriously. im being reprimanded for the time off, appointments, tardies, etc. that having a newborn brings. they talk the “family oriented, flexible and accommodating” talk but are honestly not walking that walk.

They have me questioning what is more important- being a mother and caring for a needy innocent child with a life and a future OR being a working woman, making an income and being productive in a work setting.

and for a while there, it was really getting to me. I’m not really big on pushing feminist agendas, but honestly, I think they’re entirely underestimating my potential as a female and as a mom.

I AM CAPABLE OF BEING A MOM AND A PRODUCTIVE MEMBER OF SOCIETY

I CAN DO BOTH. IT IS POSSIBLE.

I don’t have to prove anything to you guys. You know my potential as a worker. If you value what I offer your company, you will accommodate for my changes in home life. Especially if I am more than willing to put emphasis on getting projects done.
