A/n: Yello again! I’m back with day 2 of @ibwhellospring‘s hello spring writing event. And lemme tell ya, it’s steamy, and you’re awkward. But it was fun to write something so light hearted for a change, even if it is complete and utter trash. Enjoy my trash, Bucky fans.

Prompt: Stroll

Pairing: Light (Bucky x reader)

Your Spidey senses have been tingling this whole stroll down to the gym. Something... Something just isn't right. Maybe it's your fluffy socks being stuffed into slippers too small to handle that sort of volume that's making your alarms go off. Or that Sam texted you so late. Or that you are standing outside the men’s locker room, listening to showers running and your friend howling like he's in an opera. You push your large framed glasses up your nose, and brush your messy hair from your face. Steeling the nervousness within you, you finally put your hand on the door... And then freeze again. It's all about baby steps, Y/n. "What are you doing?" Wide eyes snap to meet a questioning gaze sent from blue eyes. Your hand on the door replaces itself at your side as you raise the black towel and the body soap in your other hand. "S...Sam... Um." The hotness running through the entirety of your face and concentrating in your cheeks has you turning your eyes away from Steve; your bashfulness really should keep you from ever speaking to a man but here you are, living with about twenty of em. "He um... Texted me. He needs..." "Y/n..." Steve chuckles as he looks down and takes to wiping the sweat of his neck. "I meant why are you taking so long to go in?" Your shrunken frame lifts up a little at his words. "Just walk in. It's not like SHEILD will come out and arrest you for going in the men’s locker room." "I know... It's just..." You point to the door and lower your voice to a whisper, "They're showering." This earns a hearty laugh from Steve, his large hand pounding down onto your shoulder. "Y/n, there are curtains up. You won't see a single thing you don't want to." Oh... That's better. The alarms in your head have stopped... But not the tingling of your Spidey senses. Steve even opens the door for you, his eyes crinkling with the supportive smile he gives you, his other hand splayed against your back and pushing you into the steamy, tiled room. "Go get em tiger." "What?" You screech in a whisper.

Day 7: “Are you in?”

Fandom: Star Trek aos (Into Darkness)

Word Count: 535

A/N: I haven’t written for Star Trek in so long! Dipping a toe with one of my OC’s from The First Time series. Any and all inaccuracies are mine, this was written on a whim. 

Her eyes scanned the digits, back and forth, up and down. The pages flipped displaying formulas, equations, photographs of trial patients, those who lived and those deceased. Name after name, men, women, teenagers and young children. Some died of natural causes, others executed for insubordination.

Face a cool mask so as not to alert anyone around, her chin slowly dipped, and her eyes hardened as she willed her nerves into steel. With three taps precisely, file after file was transferred into a thumb drive. The door to the right opened, another shift ready to begin.

IT’S THE S-S-S-SEQUEL!

Back in May 2019, I launched my first ever daily writing event, and now it’s time for the sequel baby! I always thought about opening a prompt blog, AND I HAVE! linked on the bullet point.

If you’re new here, this is a 31-Day, daily fiction short story event, where for every day from when you start, should you decide to join in, we’ll be writing a short piece (450 words min) based on the day’s prompt. This is a no-pressure, low-commitment, sharing event and a chance to work out those writing muscles!

I’ve decided to compile a list of questions I’ve seen on the main post, and others I could think about, so should anyone have a doubt it can be explained in one place. If your question/s isn’t/aren’t answered here, by all means ask me (here or over at my main @itsbuckysworld​), and I’ll do my best to answer you and include the question in this list.

I can’t begin the event on *initial date*

Absolutely no problem. You can try to write in advance, start whenever it suits you, or just catch up/continue whenever you are able. 

I can’t do continuous days.

Neither can I! it’s not a race to see who keeps up with things the most or finishes first. It’s an exercise to practice writing and work out the creative muscles. Do it at your own pace, pick back up where you left off and have fun.

What if I can’t complete the challenge?

This isn’t a challenge. There isn’t a time limit or a prize. You can’t fail or succeed at this event. If you do 1 prompt or all 31 that’s fine and either way I’m grateful to you for participating.

Where do I sign up?

There’s no “sign up”. Just go ahead and do ya thang following the prompt of whatever day you’re on.

How do I tag it for you to find/reblog? What’s the tag for this event?

Tag your pieces using #IBW: Hello Spring *year* and make sure it’s in the first five tags so it shows up when I search it. You can tag any of my blogs in the piece as well (ibwhellospring, itsbuckysworld, ibwhellowriting). 

Another tag to help you keep track of what day and maybe even make it easier for people to find on your blog, should you want to use it: is #ibwhellospringdayx replacing the x with the day of the prompt the piece is for.

How long should it be?

These are short stories just to go quickly and serve as a creative exercise so 450 words. You can always do more but you HAVE to use the read more feature. It’s kinder to people’s dashboards. 

What else should be there?

I’d recommend the usual. The pairing of the piece if needed, the category of the writing with its proper warnings should it need any, and, the day and prompt that it fills. If you want you can follow this template.

Is it just prose or can it be poems or headcannons etc?

You can write however your heart desires. Full paragraphs, AU’s, in a TFLN (texts from last night) format, Headcanon format or whatever you want

Is smut allowed?

Yes, but do mark it as explicit, put a read more feature no matter how long or short the piece is. Rape, abuse, non-consensual will be ignored.

Is it fictional characters only?

Yes and no.

Yes, because: I’m not recommending writing for the real person that plays the part. For example writing about Chris Evans. Write, instead, about any of his characters.

No, because: OC’s are 100% welcome. If you want to use these prompts to help character development for your own pieces of fiction, go right ahead.

Are ships welcomed?

Yes they are but pedophilia and incest will be ignored and reported. If you have characters that are family and/or underage, write only platonic fiction for them. I reserve the right to reblog pieces with aged-up characters for smut’s sake. 

Can I add photos/gifs to my piece?

Yes, give credit to the owner if it’s not your piece of media, and if it’s explicit it has to be under a read more cut.

I don’t write, can I draw instead?

YES. Who am I to stop you from making fan art if any of the prompts inspired you to do so. God that’d make me cry of joy. BE CREATIVE! use this to help yourself out of a creative funk or whatever you need.

Can I post on other websites?

Yes, but I beg of you that you post the piece in full here on tumblr. After all this is a tumblr event and this is where I’ll be giving updates and keeping an eye on stuff.

Does my piece HAVE to have the word in it?

No. Your piece can be inspired by the word of the prompt. Only dialogue prompts should be directly on the piece, and you can alter them, like, for example, separating them with pauses, or laughter or babbling from your character. Just have it be there in essence.

What do you mean by X/Y prompts

You can write X or you can write Y, or you can write a piece that tells the story from X to Y. 

Can I post two+ pieces in one day?

I’d recommend you don’t. Part of the fun of this is creating/having daily content. one a day 

Can I write one piece for two prompts?

I’d recommend you don’t. Part of the idea is that you have to create or imagine something for each word, that’s the sorta challenge-y part of this. It can be easy to select all the words that relate and get them done with in one sitting, but that’s not the point of this. While two prompts can be related (in a part one and part two and so on if needed, kinda manner) please don’t kill two birds with one stone, that’s not what this is for.

Can my pieces be related to each other then?

Yup, if and however you want, you can relate them.

You’re a marvel blog, is this event Marvel only?

Not at all, it’s open to all and any fandom.

Will you reblog everything?

No. I am only one human and can only spot and read so much.

Keep in mind: (these are kinda rules but not really cause it’s not that deep and formal, this is for fun!)

Don’t have to follow me to participate. Please reblog the main post to help me spread the word.

I’ll be joining as well, but I haven’t even finished my 2019 prompts so, that’s how non-pressure this is. If you start these today, mid May or June 2021, that’s a-ok. The idea is to do 31 continuous days, but if you have to skip one that’s totally fine, just continue from where you left off when/if you return to writing them. 

Short Stories = 450 words. You can always write more if you want, I’m not going to stop your inspiration! 450 words is about 6 paragraphs! You can do it! I believe in you!

If you write more, please use the Read More feature. Reach out to me if you don’t know how and I’ll explain it! This makes it kinder to people’s dashboards. 

You can link all the prompts to each other, meaning one can be a part one to any other following day. In fact one could be part three to something you already have going on. Go wild!

Open to every fandom. I reserve the right to reblog Real People Fiction. All ships allowed, no incest no pedophilia.
