To hack or not to hack: The black-hat hackerās ethical dilemma during a contagion
While the post-Covid-19 world has seen quite a few instances of propagating malware dressed up in corona clothes, not everyone prowling the dark side of the Internet is happy with the dubious ethics of adding fuel to the virus fire.
According to researchers at Singapore-based cybersecurity, investigation, and threat-intelligence firm Group-IB, phishing e-mails exploiting coronavirus panic accounted for only about 5% of all malicious e-mails detected and analysed by the Computer Emergency Response Team at Group-IB over the last few weeks. This relatively small percentage, they say, ācan partly be explained by the fact that not all cybercriminals are capitalising on coronavirus fearsā.
In fact, the eagerness of some black-hat hackers to use Covid-19 as a ruse to spread malware has created consternation in Internetās darker alleys, as seen in exchanges on underground-Web forums.
In a Russian-speaking underground forum, a hacker revealed that while the person initially had plans to use the pandemic to make money, that idea was dropped. āI decided to drop this idea. No good can come out of others' tragedy.... At the start, I thought the same, that I would capitalise on the hype, but now when it became clear that itās not just the panic, but the real tragedy, I suggest everyone not to exploit this unhappy event. I will also strongly urge my clients to switch from Covid-themed landings to some others,ā the black-hat said.
Just like in the mainstream economy, the underground economy too has been adversely affected by the pandemic. Group-IB says that its Threat Intelligence team āhas tracked down more than 500 posts on underground forums in which users offered coronavirus discounts and promotional codes on DDoS, spamming, and other services to stimulate demand, affected by the pandemicā.
A few weeks ago, BleepingComputer, a technology website, had reported that many of the organisations engaged in ransomware it reached out to had said that they would try not to attack organisations engaged in health and medical care. A few of the groups they talked to even offered to share the key that will decrypt their data if any medical or healthcare-related organisation was at the receiving end of an attack.
That said, it is prudent for all organisations and individuals, both in healthcare and other sectors, to remain vigilant and follow best practices in not opening attachments and in updating their software, among other things.
Transforming Bangaloreās Healthcare Sector with Cloud Computing
Bangalore, known as the āSilicon Valley of India,ā has witnessed technological breakthroughs in almost all spheres of life, and healthcare is among the major winners. As healthcare organizations continue to change, cloud computing has become a key agent in changing how patient care, information, and healthcare research are provided. This blog post explores how cloud computing is revolutionizing healthcare in Bangalore and how professionals can make the most of the cloud computing course in Bangalore.
The Digital Transformation of Healthcare
Enhanced Data Management and Accessibility
Healthcare is one of the most data-intensive industries, and the ability to manage and process copious amounts of patient data remains one of the biggest key concerns. Before the advance of current technology, some hospitals and clinics used charts and papers or individual computers, which resulted in problems such as slow work rates and confusion. Cloud computing has made this easier, where extensive data is stored centrally yet can be accessed from anywhere in the world.
A real-life example: Consider a multi-specialty hospital in Bangalore with a daily patient turnout of over 3000. Another benefit of cloud solutions is that hospitals can now store patient records, diagnoses, and treatment plans in the cloud. This way, doctors can access important information anytime, at the hospital or from a distance.
Improved Patient Care Through Telemedicine
Thus, telemedicine is a powerful tool for creating a substantially enhanced landscape of patient care.
Since the COVID-19 outbreak forced the adoption of telemedicine, cloud computing has been the supporting infrastructure of the process. Everything in a physical format can be transferred to the cloud, meaning that healthcare providers can conduct consultations through territorial distance.
Real-life example: In crowded areas of Bangalore, people have resorted to telemedicine applications that store patient information in the cloud. A doctor visiting a patient in Electronic City can quickly access his earlier records and promptly diagnose the patientās condition.
Benefits of Cloud Computing in Bangaloreās Healthcare
Cost Efficiency
Cloud computing eliminates the need for large-scale IT infrastructure, which can be very costly to healthcare providers today. By using cloud services, hospitals and clinics can drastically reduce the cost of hardware and the costs of maintaining and upgrading it.
Scalability and Flexibility
This means that the IT resources of healthcare providers in Bangalore canĀ
be elastic depending on the requirement. This is particularly useful during calamities, namely when disease outbreaks, such as the recent pandemic, occur. There was a high demand for data management in the health sector and a high demand for telehealth.
Data Security and Compliance
Patient information is sensitive, so security is among the most critical issues. Business continuity is well managed through service-level agreements with cloud service providers that provide necessary security features, such as encryption and backup, as standard features to avoid patient data breaches.
Opportunities for Professionals: Cloud Computing Course in Bangalore
As practice toward cloud computing in healthcare continues to grow, there is a new human resource deficiency when designing, implementing, and optimizing these systems. To meet this need, therefore, specific training is needed. Knowing that cloud computing learners are valued in the current demand-driven healthcare industry, learners in a cloud computing course in Bangalore are guaranteed valuable assets.
Key Takeaways from a Cloud Computing Course in Bangalore
Understanding Cloud Architecture: Learn the basics of IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS, their roles, and their applications in the healthcare industry.
Data Security Protocols: Over the years, there has been a tremendous explosion in the use of information to deliver healthcare information.
Real-World Applications: Preparation of tools and platforms utilized in various healthcare organizations in Bangalore.
Acquiring a cloud computing certification in Bangalore also has an added advantage. It proves one's identity and ability to work within a complicated cloud framework.
The Road Ahead: Cloud Computing certification in Bangalore
Since Bangalore has adopted enhanced technology in its healthcare systems, the future increase of cloud computing in healthcare will be more profound. Healthcare is driven by the need to serve patients better, the opportunity to be more efficient, and the need to innovate while operating in a heavily regulated environment.
Final Thoughts
With the establishment of a cloud computing course in Bangalore, aspiring IT personnel can easily exploit the unfolding market in the sector. By getting a cloud computing certification in Bangalore, one can become an agent of this transformation and be instrumental in changing the existing healthcare system through efficiency, accessibility, and security.
In conclusion, cloud computing is not merely the continuation of the IT evolution for Bangalore's healthcare sectorāit is an advancement that will advance the healthcare model in India. In general, the cloud has excellent opportunities for development for both healthcare providers and IT specialists.
