“They are weapons that destroy from a distance but cause great collateral damage.  I have never thought of a war in which they were actually good and useful.”  Sirus shook his head, “They are definitely not a way to make this war go better.”

Tuli nodded and Smoke seemed to understand that these were not a weapon he could forge.  Kahn looked at his son, flaming eyes steady.  “It is amazing that humans are still around with the things they create.”

“You have been around a long time, father,” Sirus murmured, “It must have been interesting to see how humans grew and learned.”

“It will be the same for you, one day,” Kahn rumbled.  “You will far outlive the bomb.  You will see what replaces it, and perhaps the fall of the human world.”
