First...Dont. Just don’t. We know, Big Ring and wheels lined up. ;)
Second, Time Trialing is hard. Like Really really hard.
The TT at the Redlands Bicycle Classic is no exception. With an elevation of 7500ft/2300m, the air is thin enough to make even the most seasoned cyclist feel like an asthmatic and, add in a course that resembles a snake slithering through sand and you’ve got yourself a challenging race.
For me, I know i’m never going to stand on the top step racing against the big boys like Optum’s Tom Zirbel but, more importantly I’m in the business of not losing huge amounts of time.
With an average of 29.1mph/46.8kph for the 7.8mile course I shaved 21seconds off from my 2014 time. Super satisfied.
