actor headshots
my actor headshots that i shot last week.
in the first head shot i had the lighting set up for a front lit headshot by having a large soft box set up above and pointing down.
in the second photograph i had the a 45 degree lighting set up where i had the soft box set up to the left hand side and a reflector bouncing the light back onto the right side of the face.
window light portraits
here are some two of my best window light portraits.
Product Photography
above are some examples of my product photography. In these photographs i attempted to go for an old fashioned feel by using old sweets and chocolates.
Iain’s class- lighting set ups (continued)
above are some examples of rim lighting and side on lighting.
images 1-4 are examples of rim lighting. in this lighting set up the photograph is mainly focused on the light outlining the model than the models face.
in images 2 and 3 i focused on getting a good outline of the models and in images 1 and 4 i used a reflector to bounce back some of the light onto the models face.
images 5-8 are examples of side on lighting and can be very useful when trying to achieve a photograph with one half of your models face in the shadows.
in images 1 and 3 i achieve to have half of the models face in the shadows which looked quite abstract as you could only make out half of the face. in images 2 and 4 i used a reflector to bounce back some light onto the models face, this was effective as it added some light to the side of the face that was previously in darkness.

a few examples of black and white film photography
image 1 : i was attracted to this photograph because of the angle the photo was taken from
image 2: i found this photograph had very strong features from the background of the street to the depth of field to the pose of the model
image 3 : i very much like the intimacy of this photograph and the lighting used the main focus point seems to be the eyes drawing you in and the fist
