Ransom had to go out in the town to handle some wellness checks on some residents due to whatever bullshit was happening now. He’d not gotten any communication like the prior random spells that had ran through in the spring, so he figured this was not planned or approved by the council. That didn’t make it any less their fault it was happening and Ransom had a mind to go see Matt and have a talk with him. Course he knew in his current state he couldn’t be trusted. Hell he’d almost forced himself on a villager, close enough the poor thing looked more terrified then prior to his arrival, usually wasn’t the goal of a police officer, specially not the police chief. Still so far he’d been doing well enough. Minus the complaints he was getting about an officer eating on the residents. He wondered how long it was going to take for that to happen and now he had to wonder if all vampires were going to have the same issue, meaning it wasn’t just James he had to be weary of, but everyone at the castle that had the title of master. Still was a good point on why having a dhampir under him wasn't going to work, though he was sure Matt would some baseless rebuttal as to why James was going to stay. Â
Ransom had seen the other in town, never had the chance to meet him, but he knew full well he was from the castle and had no collar meaning there was a good chance he was one of the many Ransom needed to keep tabs on. The leviathan shifted his route to make sure he ended up before the other who was idly walking through the town under the soft streetlights and clear star filled sky. The heat didn’t seem as unbearable as it was during the day, not that it affected him much at all, but he could see it in others. He supposed that was a benefit about being a mix of fire based creatures. Heat never bothered him, though he still preferred cold and snow to heat.Â
“You have a reason to be here?” Ransom had meant to just ask the question indifferently, but there was an aggressiveness to it and his stance he was barely even aware of, but the creatures inside him were looking for a fight.
