7. How do they physically engage with other people, inanimate objects, and their environment? What causes the differences between these?Surma - Doesn’t physically engage with people at all if she can help it. She’s very wary of personal space (her own and other peoples). When it comes to her equipment - she’s comfortable with the items of her apprenticeship (blacksmithing tools, heated metal, even horses) and has an instinctive knowledge about what can be done with them. As for the tools of her job, she has developed a familiarity with tools of exorcism as well as purification. She’s still a little awkward when it comes to reading things out of tomes, but many of the recitations she’s just memorized. She’s also very handy with cleaning up a graveyard and takes some enjoyment from weeding. 12. How are they bodily expressive? How do they use nonverbal cues such as their posture, stance, eyes, eyebrows, mouths, and hands?Surma is shut off and awkward. Her hands fidget and grasp and always try to find something to be occupied with. She has gotten better at looking people in the face when speaking or listening to them, but she tends to blink a little more than normal. She slouches kind of badly when she’s sitting unless she’s writing, then her spine is ramrod straight. 17. Are they more shaped by nature or nurture — who they are, or what has happened to them? How have these shaped who they’ve become as a person?Merit is a Pureblood Sith Warrior. She is a product of her environment such that she is honorable, shows respect for a worthy adversary, and prefers to guide the weak rather than to crush them. For her, none of these things stand in contract to her training as a Sith. She has pulled away somewhat from the Empire, however. 18. What kind of person could they become in the future? What are some developmental paths that they could take, (best, worst, most likely?) what would cause them to come to pass, and what consequences might they have? What paths would you especially like to see, and why?Surma could see herself staying in Darkshire for the rest of her life, taking care of the graveyards, doing the occasional exorcism. She has dreams of joining the Night Watch. With what’s happening in Legion, however, her life will completely change. The experience of watching her heroes turn on her home and slaughter people who have known her since her childhood will force her to take responsibilities she hadn’t expected to. She will take up the mantle of Paladin as Protector (even though she’s not technically a paladin) and will dedicate herself fully to protecting her single surviving friend; her mentor Griggon Vollan. Wherever he goes and whatever he decides to do, Surma will be there to keep him safe. 25. What do they need and want out of relationships, and how do they go about getting it?Zorial the Jedi Knight’s closest relationship is with her best friend (galpal) Ci’xhiara. All she needs and wants from Ci’xi is a confidant and someone to hold her hand through the tough stuff. All the extras are just great bonuses. Also she’s in a one-way dependent relationship with all kinds of candy. 30. What is their preferred level of activity and stimulation? How do they cope if they get either too little or too much?Surma wakes up early and begins physical labor immediately. She starts with hauling water for the blacksmith she apprentices too and then starts making metal blanks and finally horse shoes for the handful of hours she spends there. Then she typically goes to Griggon’s house where she cleans, studies, and does whatever chores he expects her to do. She goes home late, makes sure her own tiny house is clean, studies if she’s not exhausted and tries not to fall asleep in the bathtub. The schedule changes if she’s expected to do an exorcism with Griggon. Then she may have a little time in the late afternoon to take a nap, but ghost stuff usually happens at night, which means the following morning she’s all but dead to the world herself. She can get by on very little sleep, though after too many days she starts to get grumpy and emotional. She has absolutely never had too much sleep.
