"Adam. Long time no see." It was good to see him looking healthy, at least. "How have you been? Played any concerts recently?"

"Hello," she purred once they broke apart. "I missed you today."

A burst of laughter, like bells ringing in the air, before Lilith beams down at Lucifer, a happy blush spreading across her face. “Are you in sneakers today?” she teased back. “Because you’ve been running through my mind for hours!”

“I suppose what I miss,” she says slowly, “is the innocence we shared. When we could play all day in the Garden with no concerns of the outside world beyond the Walls. Like a metaphorical childhood that we were never granted. I miss the closeness we shared before we were told we were husband and wife.”

"That simply cannot be true," she murmured. "We gave humanity the chance to change, to learn and grow, and expand. We just cannot bear witness to the good that's come from that decision, my love, but that doesn't mean it doesn't happen. I have to believe that. As our daughter does, I have to have hope that things can change...or all of our efforts have been for naught."
