Proposed Rule for an I-601A Provisional Waiver for Relatives of Permanent Residents
On July 14, 2015, the Department of Homeland Security proposed a rule that will allow the spouses and children of Permanent Residents to apply for a provisional waiver (I-601A) in the U.S. prior to attending an immigrant visa interview at a U.S. Embassy.
This is great news because it will cut down the time that the applicant will spend outside of the U.S. from the current 6-12 months to 1-2 weeks.
