Celine stands near them with a slight upward curl of her lips, strange considering how close to death her students had just been. But she can't help her amusement as she thinks back to her own first hunt.

The Sunlight Sisters had also been simply reduced to a shaking pile of limbs, holding onto each other for dear life after their first near death experience.

This, Celine decides, warrants a feast to celebrate the girls surviving their first hunt. She had made sure to grab everything needed for Korean barbecue and her homemade kimchi jjigae beforehand.

She tells the girls to relax and have their well-earned rest until dinner is ready.

"-umi? Rumi?"

The singer stirs at the call of her name, head still clouded by sleep as she tries to open her eyes.

"Rumi, can you come here please?" The voice now a little more urgent.

The girl yawns before she slowly moves to extricate herself from Zoey and Mira's hold, muttering a "coming" as she makes her way over to Celine.

Rumi rubs her eyes, trying to wake herself up some more only to see her mentor smiling at her softly, holding out a spoon full of stew towards her.

"Will you taste this for me?"

The singer simply opens her mouth happily in lieu of an answer, letting out a groan of delight as she gets a mouthful of the best kimchi jjigae in the world (she's not biased).

Celine seems proud of the reaction, but she looks at Rumi's face for a beat, shifting between the girl's eyes as if in search of something.

"Is it good?" she asks.

Rumi nods fervently. "It's so good. The best."

Her mentor hums at the answer. "It's not too spicy? You can taste the kimchi and everything?"

The singer rolls her eyes. "It's amazing. You always make it perfect for us. And of course we can taste the kimchi, Celine. That's silly."

Celine lets out a huff of a laugh before she ruffles Rumi's hair a bit, receiving a squawk and a glare as the girl tries to swat the hand away.

The mentor sends Rumi off to wake the girls and set the table, happy to have made a meal that she has made hundreds of times before.

Perhaps if Rumi hadn't just woken up from sleep, she might've noticed how shaky Celine's hand had been when she fed the girl the stew.

She might've notice that her mentor's laugh had sounded a little hollow after her comment.

She might've noticed how slowly and dreadfully Celine had been chewing on her food that night (every night), looking like she was swallowing ash and bones with every bite.

A tragedy that the person who taught them to love food can no longer enjoy what she makes.

Celine stores this new development into the back of her mind with the rest of her mental records: no memories of her birth family, the loss of hearing in one of her ears, the loss of feeling on her right ring finger, and now... the loss of taste.

She'll be fine (is what she tells herself).

“Yeah? Want me to get you one?” you smiled.

“Nah youn gotta get me one ma, I mean you can if you want to, but you don’t need to spend any money on one. we can wait til our wedding” he shrugged.

“Or I can just give it to you now” you said just above a whisper. pulling out a black velvet box, you gently place it into his hand. taking a step back to gauge his reaction. “Open it, baby” you whispered when he just stared at the box.

“What is this ma?” he looked up, his voice brittle.

“Just open it baby” you said softly.

With a shaky breath and even shakier hands, he opened the box. Inside a gold band with a rose engraved into it

“I wanted it to match mine, but if you want, we can make some alterations” you tried to see his face, your nerves rising as you watched him put the ring on. heart hammering as you watched him clench his hand into a fist.

“No this is perfect” his voice was raspy as he stared down at his hand.

“Baby?” you cautiously walked up to him. your hands gently caressing his face as he finally raised his head to meet your eyes. “Oh papa” you whispered as you pressed a gentle kiss to his lips. wiping away the tears that fell from his eyes. “It’s okay, baby” you soothed him, as you looked at the tight grip his teeth had on his bottom lip. “It's okay to cry” you hugged him tightly.

“This is…I don’t even know what to say princess. thank you” he sniffled bringing you into a hug once again.

“Of course, baby.” you sighed. “Look now we’re matching” you held up your conjoined hands. “Ain’t gon be able to tell us shit” you giggled.

“Nah they definitely not” he laughed along with you. “Ion know how im ever gonna be able to repay you mama” he shook his head, admiring the ring you got him.

“You don’t have to repay me Ony. I just wanted to visibly express my love to you pa.”

“I know, I know, it’s just…no one’s ever done this before. loved me the way you do.”

“Aww, well im glad to be the first” you pouted.

“First and last” he smirked. “Now I know you said I didn't have to repay you” his hands traveled down to her thighs.

“But i'd love to show you another way of how much I appreciate you.”

"hey, are you almost done getting ready? we're leaving in 10!" your friend shouted from the living room. you spent a while getting ready, trying to figure out what to do with yourself. "yeah i'll be done in a sec!" you yelled back. you were a smaller creator, but apparently big enough to get invited to go to a convention! you mostly do minecraft streams and make small vlogs of your art whenever you don't feel like streaming. you were on the fence on going were a little bit nervous. especially with your mini meet and greet. but you tried to be positive, i mean, imagine all of your fans excited to see you!

you went downstairs and apologized to your friend for taking awhile.

as you got your badge and entered the convention, your eyes widen. you've been to a couple of conventions yourself, but none were ever this big. you saw people cosplaying their favorite characters, people looking at the vendors, and even saw people meeting their favorite creators. it was all so overwhelming but in a good way? i mean, this was basically your nightmare as there were so many people, but seeing them all make connections made you smile a bit.

you awkwardly asked your friend to record you so you could make a vlog. they laughed at how shy you were being but obviously still got to recording. you walked around the convention, talking and showing everything you're doing. you even got noticed by a couple of people!

after forty fiveish minutes of walking, recording and having the biggest smile on your face, you finally got to sit down and get ready for you meet and greet booth. you heard the speakers announce your booth and you got a little bit apprehensive. it's the first time you ever do something like this.

but before you know it, theres already a line forming. you see the faces of your fans and you can't help but feel so happy. so many of them came just to see you!

throughout the next thirty minutes, you took so many photos. you felt like your face was going to have a permanent smile from how much you've been posing.

then you recognized a face in the line. is that... charlie slimecicle?? what is he doing here? i mean, obviously he would be at this conevtion but why is he at your line? you furrowed your brows but quickly gave a smile. you still need to be professional for the people who paid for this.

then, he walked up to your booth.

"hey!" he grinned. his hair slightly messy but it looked as if it was intentional. one hand waves at you and the other stays at his side. he looked as if... he was nervous?

you smiled, your shyness coming back. "hi charlie..." you didn't expect such a big creator to wait in line for you. "what are you doing here?"

"well, i just thought i'd introduce myself to someone like you." his eyes looked down at the floor and his wide grin turned into a bashful smile. "you caught my eye and..." he looks up, realizing how awkward he might be sounding to you. "... thought we should get to know each other?" a lop-sided smile appeared as he fixed a strand of his hair.

your face couldn't help but feel a little bit hotter. did he seriously just say that? your face hurts even more from smiling, not just from the photos this time. "you really waited in line just to say that?" you giggled lightly. "i mean... kinda?" he chuckled, his cheeks turning light pink.

"i can meet you after all of this is done, if you would want to anyways." he looked at you, unknowingly giving you the biggest puppy dog eyes you've ever seen. it was a side you've never seen. you;ve watched a couple of his videos/streams, seeing how loud and goofy he was on camera. but when it was off camera, he really was just a shy, dorky guy. it was pretty endearing, and i guess the charm of it worked because you found yourself agreeing to his ask.

I think my favorite of the 8 sequences is Trip. Something about the shy photo taking is kinda cute??
