Wistful wishes || @madefromthedarkness
Summer was nearing it's untimely end. Bikinis, shorts, and the like being traded out for a bit more— modest wear, I suppose you could say. Fall was approaching rather fast, and quite frankly, Roxas didn't know how to feel about that. Here he was again, sitting on the curb of some unknown street, in some unknown place, alone. That's typically always how he ended up. Summer jobs were coming to their closing points, friends had moved away, and a lot of people changed. Life moved on as always, but the loneliness the young blond felt only seemed to double tenfold as the Fall season approached.
He didn't understand why this was so, but rather, he didn't choose to question it. Don't ask questions that you don't really want to know the answer to, I always say. Kicking at a pebble, he would twiddle at his thumbs, staring off into the desolate streets. No one came here, to this place. The town had been deserted long ago. A used-to-be cesspool of criminals and numerous sex scandals. This was a place you only visited if you honestly had a death wish.
Roxas ignored the fact, really. He came here to think, nothing more. At this point, he was overwhelmed by the fact he didn't have anyone to go home to. No family, no friends, no special someone. All he had was a cat, and cats were all good and well until you wanted someone to talk to. Though..the blond wasn't exactly 'exempt' from attempting to communicate with felines.
The Cat whisperer.
'I'm so not funny..' He thought, cupping his face within his palms. Now Roxas wasn't crazy, by any means; but he liked to tinker with things that need not be tinkered with. Trying to use mind control on a bird probably wasn't the best, or the brightest idea he'd ever had. Taping the cat to the refrigerator to see if he was somehow superhuman wasn't really a good idea either.
Maybe this was why he didn't have friends.
"Well, shit." He grumbled.

First Date || Gray & Lucy
Although he knew the location he had in mind was frequented as much as any other in Magnolia, he felt it to be more fitting. There was still a chance to eclipse themselves, should the need come forth. He knew for a fact that the guild would be occupied well in the night; it was as good a chance as any.
The roseate sky above them was concealed by a layer of golden and jade hues alike, shielding them from whatever the atmosphere had to offer. A sweet air lingered in the cluster of trees; an air of summer, of liberty, clinging to their very beings.
Idle hands swung by their respective sides, either too afraid or too uneasy to join as one. Very well, he thought. He wouldn’t infringe boundaries. Subtle words were exchanged, nothing of great importance -- simply day to day conversation. It was enough to fill in the silence, but it wasn’t enough to engage his full attention, either.
Darkened azure optics swept across the broadened horizon offered to them as the path widened for them to step into a secluded clearing, guarded by several thick, verdant shrubberies implanted therein. Where several more trees breached the light-coloured blades of grass, a stream of water flowed through the parted ground.
Walking towards the border, glancing behind him to ensure that the celestial mage followed suit, he settled himself upon the soft ground beneath. It was soft due to the water nearby; otherwise the thin rays of sunlight that filtered through the exposed sky would have long hardened the soil.
Lowering roughened digits to the flow of water presented to them, the cool touch elicited a content sigh from his lips. A small smile gracing his features, he tilted his head to the side, lifting vibrant hues to meet hers.
“Hey, Lucy.” He voiced suddenly, obviously out of context of their conversation. With a flick of his wrist, he offered her a hand to sit by his side. She slid down without question, though as he watched her closely he detected a hint of uncertainty in her gaze.
"You know why I asked you here, right? Not just... Not just a silly outing, you know." He said slowly, swallowing hard. There was something unsettling about speaking his mind; he had hardly clarified the means of their day together. He had made no move to indicate any difference from their usual ways, excluding the fact that he had steered her away from any of the inhabitants of Magnolia. That may have appeared odd to her, possibly.
As she began to spew incomprehensible words, a rosy tint colouring her cheeks, he turned his head away. A small sigh expelled from his lips, and he reached to grab her forearm, halting her speech. What ensued was on pure impulse, and also because he wasn't keen on delving into meaningless words.
Having seized her arms, he pulled her closer to him, their faces ever-so-close. The frantic beating of his heard could be heard between erratic breaths, as he soon closed the gap between them. Her eyes widened, and she struggled in mild protest before a moment later she too closed her eyes and allowed their mouths to melt into one. Her arms parted to wrap around his neck, prolonging the sudden kiss a while longer.
"... That's sort of what I meant by this day, together ..." He said moments later as they pulled apart. "I guess you could call this... our first date?"
