Reading Civilizations and its discontents by Freud and it’s funny becase the Spanish translation of the title is more literal to the German, in Spanish is El malestar de la cultura, and in German the title is Das Unbehagen in der kulture, which is a word by word translation in German-Spanish, but not in English, because Culture and Civilizations, while related, they may not have the same connotations.
And it makes me wonder how accurate are both translations in the first place, and if there is, in the text of English ver, more of this words that are, technically well-translated but to my ear they sound weird (because, it is not like I study languages, I’m just studying psychology, so it would be a personal query, for me and myself)
But it is not like I could actually test it, not because I couldn’t read three versions of an essay, but because I don’t know German, lol. So reading the English one along the Spanish one would give me no information, because how do I know the Spanish translation isn’t the wrong one at a given moment.
so i'm watching angel the series at the moment, and i'm also watching the most important buffy episodes using this guide but the next buffy episode is the body and i'm so not ready to rewatch that... so i've been putting it off for two weeks but i'm gonna do it now. bring it.
